Quality education is the responsibility of governments. VVOB supports the policy implementation of these governments and their services so they can take on this responsibility even better.

Department of Basic Education

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) guides the education system in South Africa and supports the provinces to implement the policies and guidelines. Not only should all children be able to attend school, but the quality of the education they receive is of crucial importance for those children and for the country.

 

Attention for the diversity of learning and of learners is the only way to ensure the best possible chances in life for each of these children. This is one of the priorities of DBE which we proudly support in our partnership, guiding and monitoring the professional development of school leaders and teachers to accommodate learner diversity in schools.

In order to get the inclusive education agenda right, we need to approach it from a multidisciplinary perspective, wherein all voices are heard. I'm very appreciative for how VVOB supports us to make the basic education system more inclusive.

South African Council for Educators

SACE

Teachers have a big responsibility for the future of any society, and should be respected professionals. SACE is responsible to monitor and report on professional development of teachers and school leaders. We support SACE to strengthen the focus of professional development to address learner diversity.

I really appreciate the role VVOB is playing. Honestly, we wouldn't be where we are. Especially the capacity that has been built. Not only capacity for professional staff, but also for our admin staff.

GreenMatter and Fundisa for Change

KIC (Keep It Cool) partners GreenMatter and Fundisa for Change found each other in their mutual interest in education for sustainable development. They share a similar approach of professional teacher and school leader development and working with governmental partners.
