Are you passionate about equipping educators to address climate change?
VVOB is seeking a skilled content development consultant with expertise in climate change to develop online teacher training materials for the Fundisa for Change: Keep It Cool Climate Change Teacher Education (KICCE) project.
The project aims to empower educators (school leaders and teachers) to integrate climate change education into the curriculum (grades 8–12) in line with the CAPS curriculum. Develop a scalable approach to be piloted and disseminated across districts and provinces, promoting nationwide readiness for climate change education.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse existing Fundisa for Change courses (Introduction to ESD and Teaching Climate Change) to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with curriculum requirements.
- Adapt course materials to seamlessly integrate with the CAPS curriculum for Grades 8–12 educators.
- Develop a comprehensive course specifically designed for school leaders, equipping them to effectively support climate change education within their schools.
- Create an introductory module on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for the New Teacher Induction Course.
